EOB Storage/Digitalization Costs

Physical Storage:

      Labor  $$$:       Office staff gathers stacks of EOBs and place in cardboard boxes that are loaded then taken to the storage facility where they are unloaded and stacked in storage unit that costs the practice monthly storage fees.

                OR

 Manual scanning/Digital Storage:

  Hardware Costs:  $800 ~ $3,400+ for a scanner plus additional maintenance costs for the upkeep/repair/replacement of the device.

      Labor involved:  In most offices without the Omni Electronic EOB Software, office staff compiles bundles of EOBs then operator places a stack at a time in a scanning unit then goes through the software's scanning process for each bundle.

      After all of the documents are scanned the user then has to go through several additional steps to archive/add the scanned documents to the Image Scanning Software program. Once these steps are completed the scanned EOB's are only viewable from users with the Scanning Software Search Engine installed on each users system

      These Imaging Software products  have to be purchased separately.

Additional costs for the maintenance, storage and backup of the digitalized database can add up..

Auto Post automatically generates a digital EOB without any additional steps

     This is very big news in today's office. Most practices have significant additional costs involved in the digitalization of paper EOBs. Many paid staff hours are consumed daily with the daunting task of scanning, organizing, updating and maintaining databases of scanned EOBs alone. Their are hundreds of software packages available for the scanning of paper into a searchable electronic format. These software products cost practices $$$ money $$$$ and time.

      Most offices use multifunctional Fax-Scanner-Printers- centrally located in their office. These devices allow users to easily add documents to their computer or to a shared folder located in the offices network. With Omni's Document Management this simple task allows the user to add these documents directly into their Omni Database.

Document management

      Omni has created a Document Management tool that allows an office to import all of their paper and electronic documentation into the Omni Database. Once the documents have been imported users can assign them to a patients permanent record for quick viewing or retrieval by anyone who has Omni access.
